Pearl-Axial chief accepts CIO role at ING IM Europe

Jan Straatman, currently chief executive officer and chief investment officer of Pearl-Axial Investments, is set to become CIO of ING Investment Management Europe.

Mr Straatman will take over the position from Maes van Lanschot, who has been appointed head of credit capitals at ING Group as of April 1 2008.

His previous roles have included CIO of ABP Asset Management, senior vice-president of GIM Capital Management in Eindhoven and New York and director of asset management at Achmea Global Investors.

“Jan Straatman has an excellent track record and brings a wealth of international experience in the asset management industry," said Gilbert Van Hassel, CEO at ING Investment Management Europe.

“He will lead the investment departments of ING Investment Management in achieving its ambitious goals.”

Mr Straatman left his post at ABP to join Pearl-Axial Investments in December 2005.
